Onward, ever onward!!‏

Dear family and friends! I hope your week was good!! Ours was, though I think the members of the ward have decided we need some fattening up because everyone keeps dropping off sweets for us... Most of them are ending up at the elders home because we cant eat them!! But yeah... I don't even know what to say about this week! It was a normal week of missionary work which means it was FANTASTIC! But nothing too exciting stands out besides the fact that a less active member and myself ganged up on Sister Soliven to get her to touch a snake since they don't have those in Hawaii. But, I feel like I am learning and growing so much. There is a lady in our ward that we had the opportunity to do service for this week. She is a survivor of throat cancer and many other hard trials to endure. As we were over there we got to talk with her and hear her testimony. The poor lady is on oxygen she cant talk very well and she can no longer eat aside from a feeding tube. She is raising two children in their teens and she is in and out of hospitals constantly. But she has a testimony that can move mountains. She knows that even though all of this has happened to her that she has a loving Heavenly Father and that he has a specific and beautiful plan for her and her life and especially for her family. It was such an amazing opportunity to talk with her and to just even get to know her a bit better than we have. The other day Sister Soliven and I were at a less active members home and we were talking about the many scary things that are happening in the world today and how much those younger than us are going to have to face. Well, it just so happens that I was on the chapters in Alma where it talks about Moroni raising the standard of truth. So we were talking about how more now than ever and more in the future than now. We, as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are going to be asked to stand up and stand out. Not because its easy but because we know who we are and we know what is right. We will need to stand or our religion and our God to let people know not only who we are but whose we are, as well as teach them who and whose they are as well. As we go onward lifting our standard of truth through our example others will question what it is that allows us to with the ever increasingly tough battle against the world and its vices. But just like Moroni's armies we go forth with the power of God on our side when we fight for the truth:) I love you all!! Stand up and stand out your are children of a Heavenly King!
Love,
Sister Bice
