Family and Friends,

Dear Family and Friends,
I hope you all had a good Christmas. Things here were crazy! We did lots of service week which was awesome because it helped us keep a Christ centered holiday season. This week I was reading in John and I was reading the story of Lazarus and I have heard this story many many times but this week in particular some of the verses stood out to me. and it was in John 11:32-35
"32 then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
35 Jesus wept."
I really liked these verses because I was thinking about this story and Jesus knew what He came to do. He knew that he was going to raise Lazarus from the dead. So, when I read it and it talked about Jesus being troubled when He saw Mary and her pain and her distress over her brothers death, and then even more than that He cried with her. I just thought about how that example alone shows how the Atonement works. Christ knows that the trials and the things that we face are for our good. He knows what is going to happen and that in the end we will be even more happy than when we started. However, even though He knows that, and he knows that everything is going to be alright, our pain troubles him and not only that he cries with us. Every step we take He takes with us because only He can truly know what we feel and only He can perfectly comfort us in our grief and pain. I really liked that. Being on a mission has been so hard, I have come across so many people that I didn't know how to help. But, the Savior knows how to help them so all I have to do is rely on Him and His power and I am able to 'comfort those that stand in need of comfort.' That is such a blessing. To know that the message I share will bring immeasurable amounts of comfort to all those I teach and come in contact with. The Savior is the perfect example and the perfect comforter. If we rely on him all of our troubles will become lighter. I hope you all have a good week! I love you bunches!
Love,
Sister Bice
